People are avidly seeking property in the Scottsdale, Arizona area for many reasons. One reason may have to do with always finding something to interest you, whether you would rather stay indoors or spend your time out of the house.

For example, internationally renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright came to Scottsdale in 1937 and purchased what was then barren real estate. In northeast Scottsdale, in the luxurious Sonoran desert, nestled in the McDowell Mountains’ shadows, Wright constructed Taliesin West, to serve as his studio, personal winter residence, and architectural campus.

Wright’s legendary vision still attracts people to Taliesin West to see Wright’s embodied plans and architectural wisdom. Wright’s private home is open to visitors and has been restored by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to look inside and out how it did when first built in the 1930s.

Taliesin West tours allow guests to witness the architect’s integration of inside and outside space regularly in tours lasting from one to three hours. Interested visitors may choose among tours of the Cabaret Theater, the Music Pavilion or the Wright’s office which are connected via gardens, terraces and paths with views of the vivid desert and valley nearby.

One of the loveliest of Scottsdale’s resort properties, Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa, also reflects Wright’s unique architectural vision according the the Scottsdale Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. This luxurious resort enjoys a history filled with Hollywood celebrities as well as an architectural past linked to the Wright legacy.

The real estate landscape in Scottsdale has also been greatly influence by one of Wrights students, Vernon Swaback. He spent more than two decades studying and working at Taliesin West and over the years has been involved in the design of award-winning hotels, office buildings, recreational facilities and custom homes throughout the Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Phoenix metropolitan area.
