In the U.S., there are quite a few large debt consolidations companies in business today. Some of these companies service consumers nationwide (and can even do business overseas through subsidiaries), some companies have a more narrower focus and solely work within their own local communities.

One of the larger companies out there is AmeriDebt. AmeriDebt is located in Maryland, New York, and Alabama. Of the three companies, only one person–according to the BBB–has reported a complaint. Few people claim that AmeriDebt isn’t an honorable debt-counseling corporation. There have never been any judgements placed against them and they have never been in court.

Another one of the leading consumer debt management services is the Federal Credit Unions, which operates in a number of different states. Credit Unions are a “Non-Profit United Way” credit agency designed to help both families and individuals decide what their specific debt reduction needs are. According to many, the United Way is one of the best organizations out there that can help families avoid court summons, bankruptcies, judgements, etc. The company will help the families avoid foreclosures and repossessions by working closely with the creditors to combine all accumulated debts into one monthly installment.

Another group out there to help families learn how to manage their debt is the CCCS. “Financial Counseling Certified” counselors (who work for CCCS), help families to come up with a plan that will increase their cash flow and lower their debts. In other words, instead of going through the changes that some debt consolidation companies go through, the CCCS works to help families and individuals to get out of debt on their own simply by counseling them. The credit company is associated with “Housing and Urban Development (HUD),” which works to get families homes and to then get them credit support.

There are also debt-consolidation types of organizations out there that are affiliated with religious groups. Often times, these companies have ties to qualified companies and they work together to help people relieve their debt.

If you are looking to consolidate debts, you have a number of high-quality, professional options, so shop around and find the deal that is best for your specific needs.
