If you don’t feel like staging the whole home, at least stage a room.
You may have a huge TV, a fireplace, and it may be comfortable. Leave out one remote, and hide everything else. Set out some snacks and drinks. Adjust the lighting as if you were about to watch a big game. Make the room look inviting for guests. That will be the image that buyers take with them.
You may have put together a dream kitchen. Do a good decluttering and cleaning. Make it look as if you were going to cook for a lot of people, but did not make a mess. Put some vegetables on a cutting board, flowers on the counter, and it will bring your kitchen to life.
Want to focus on the dining area? Set the table with your best dishes and put that nice arrangement of flowers out.
You may have a great bathroom, and want to accentuate it. Set the scene as though you were planning on a long soak. To ensure the relaxed feel, you can put a book or a glass next to the tub.
Your kid might have an awesome room. Play that up. Clean the room, but then set out some toys or electronics that complement the room’s theme.
Maybe outdoor living is one of your home’s biggest assets. You can add life to a pool with some floating toys, or put a cooler of drinks on the patio.
Once you have fun with one room, you can do others. This week you can do the living room, and next week you can do the bathroom.
