The city’s downtown section is lined with custom shops and cozy cafes and multiple historical landmarks. Vicksburg is also the home of America’s beverage, Coca-Cola. It was in 1894 that Joseph Biedenharn bottled this now famous beverage.
The region’s forests, rivers and lakes are teeming with wildlife. Some popular sports are hunting and fishing. The 18 lakes and rivers in the area provide the fisherman with crappie, catfish, bass and bream for catching. Boating and water skiing are a favorite for water sports enthusiasts. There are two 18-hole golf courses, Clear Creek Golf Course and Vicksburg Country Club.
