ASD classes that are taught in specially built flood houses are being taught around the country at locations such as the Aquadry Academy in Live Oak Florida and the Water Loss Institute in Indiana, After a lecture in a classroom setting the students try out the techniques in the flood houses that are equipped with moisture monitors so the students can have instant feedback on their drying progress.
Insurance adjusters and Restoration Contractors are the primary students of these schools. Both classes of students are going useful knowledge by attending these drying schools
The schools, that have been described as water damage boot camps start of with a behavior modification program designed to retrain industry veterans that have predetermined notions on ow to preform water damage mitagation. Junk science is throw out the window and is replaced with a scientifically proven method of determining equipment needs and moisture levels on water damage job sites.
The first thing these schools teach is the science of drying or psychometrics. Psychometrics is the study of how temperature, relative humidity and absolute humidity relate to each other. These studies can then be related to how much and what type of equipment is necessary to preform optimally on building drying projects.
Flood houses are equipped with an array of temperature and humidity measuring sensors. These sensors are used to monitor the students progress.
